Gastroenterology is the study and treatment of disease of the stomach, liver, biliary tract, pancreas & intestines. Our Board Certified gastroenterologists provide a full range of consultative services for the evaluation of diseases of these organs. In addition, they provide a full range of endoscopic services for the evaluation of, and early diagnosis and treatment of, diseases of the colon, stomach, and pancreatic and biliary systems.
These procedures include colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography). Procedures are performed in state of the art endoscopy suites, using the latest equipment at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana.
Approximately 150,000 new cases of colon cancer are diagnosed every year in the United States and nearly 50,000 people die from the disease. It has been estimated that increased awareness and screening would save at least 30,000 lives each year.
